If you follow Stampin’ Up! in the same fanatical way that I and many others do, you will know that the CEO and co-founder of the company is Shelli, and Shelli is married to Sterling.
Perhaps, like my Aunty Mary (*waving* Aunty Mair!) you even know all the family’s names by heart and upon receiving a copy of the new catalogue, turn not to the sections bulging with new stamps, papers and accessories, but to the family photo in the front to see how everybody has grown and changed!
But that’s a whole other story…
Back to Sterling. Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call around half an hour ago from a fellow with an American accent introducing himself as Sterling. Actually nevermind my surprise, imagine my heart rate!
Turns out that the Sterling in question lives a few streets from here and had been delivered, along with some packages addressed to him, one that was meant to be delivered to me, containing none other than a stack of catalogues and other things that I ordered specifically for my catalogue launch workshops this coming weekend! How’s that for an amazing coincidence?
Well I thought it was pretty amazing, after I picked myself up off the floor and regained my composure
Speaking of my catalogue launch workshops, I still have a place left this Friday evening and now only two on Sunday afternoon. And now I am ALSO assured of having enough catalogues for everybody thanks to Sterling!
I am having SO much fun putting together the goodies for the workshops – they’re going to be a blast! Contact me asap if you’d like to be included.
Here is another sneaky peek of the sorts of things you will see at the workshop….
“Window Dressing Flowers”
Stamps: Window Dressing, Polka Dot, Short & Sweet
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Watercolour Paper
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Going Grey, Tangerine Tango, Lovely Lilac, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Aquapainter, Scallop Edge Punch

Hey there again Sair!
Your “sterling” story is so funny! How’s that for a co-incidence though eh! lol
Love your little card with the flowers Sair! Your colouring is just drop dead gorgeous! One day I hope to be able to colour nicely, but for now, I’ll keep practicing!!

You’re a crack up!!! Cute card too
Oh dear what a strange creature I am……but I do love to look at that amazing family. My goodness I can imagine a gazillion thoughts racing through your mind when you thought you had the THE Sterling on the phone; especially with Convention so close – what an amazing coincidence. Bit scary that parcels are going elsewhere before they get to you though. How fortunate this other Sterling was able to find you. Riding Hood Red looks delish and the whole card is gorgeous, I love it, it’s so pretty. I’m really looking forward to the workshop, seems ages since some of your creative dust sprinkled on to my shoulders. xxx
OM goodness Sarah! My heart would have been racing too!
Looking forward to catching up with you at Convention
Completely off this topic – Sarah it seems Keesh loves the Fifth Avenue Floral set too. I am so out-numbered and have to admit you can do so much with it now I have seen what all you amazing, talented people have made with it! LOL
Hi Sarah,
Loved the Sterling Story. Its been ages, can’t wait to catch up with you next week at convention. I have 10 of my downline coming which is great!!! I have even finished some swaps!!!
Cheers
Naomi
Hi Sarah
Check out this link to Shelli’s blog. http://www.soshelli.com/blog/month/february-2009
I remembered her post from a couple of months ago. Maybe it really was a Sterling related to the Stampin’ Up family!! I am sure you can verify from the photo whether or not it is this Sterling that you came across.
Funny story!
Hey Nicole! Now that you mention it, I do remember that on Shelli’s blog, but it is a different Sterling
Who knew there were so many of them around?!!
oh lol … he really had an American accent?? did you share this story with Shelli at Convention??
thanks for your presentation – it was awesome!
@ Leonie, yes he did and yes I did!
