* No stamping experience required, but a willingness to be open to the learning of countless new and exciting stampin' techniques is a must
* Must be prepared for the strong likelihood of making new friends both online and in person, all of whom will very likely be "crazy stamping ladies"
* Must be 100% prepared to put aside all dignity and shame, jumping and hooting loudly in the event of any of (but not limited to) the following:
- An Australia Post van arriving in your driveway and making delivery of a large brown box, particularly during pre-order when demonstrators have the opportunity to purchase catalogue and mini catalogue products an entire month before they're released to the public
- The postman delivering your advance copy of the new Idea Book & Catalogue during August each year - a month before anybody else gets to see it
- Winning "Prize Patrol" at any given Stampin' Up! event (held yearly in most capital cities, plus the annual national convention) whereby a member of Stampin' Up! staff will hand you a stamp set that is usually from an upcoming catalogue and as yet unavailable to anybody else
* The ability to stifle a giggle when telling workshop customers that the colour you are currently using is called Blushing Bride/Certainly Celery/Bravo Burgundy, and keep a straight face when agreeing that "yes, there must be an entire department dedicated to the naming of the colours"
* The ability to see the world in the aforementioned Stampin' Up! colours, so that when team days descend into conversations about how Cathy's nail polish is Rich Razzleberry, you will be able to keep up and possibly even contribute
* No requirement to do anything at all if you don't want to
* Easily achievable quarterly sales requirement to remain active if you do want to
* Home based, highly flexible hours
* Generous 20% (minimum) discount on all personal purchases
* A minimum of 20% commission on all sales (30% for your first workshop order immediately after accepting a position) with the opportunity to earn up to 35% based on promotions achieved

If you have come to this section of my website, chances are you have already thought of some reasons why you'd like to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! Here is a comprehensive list of things you might like to consider as you are weighing up your options....
The friendships! Since I started this journey, I have become part of the most wonderful network of stampers that I would be unlikely to have ever crossed paths with had it not been for the decision to become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I now have great friends in other demonstrators right across Australia, and also in customers that have become friends through a mutual love of stamping. I also have a great team of stampers – “A Klass Act” – that you will become part of when you join Stampin’ Up! with me. We have regular get-togethers where we create and share ideas and just generally support each other in our individual stampin’ journeys.
The products! Whether you are just buying them for yourself, or also selling them to your customers, you can be assured of the fact that Stampin’ Up! products are top quality and very competitively priced too! It’s no wonder that Creating Keepsakes magazine named them the best stamps in the industry for two years running!
The events! Stampin' Up! sure knows how to run an event, whether it's the yearly convention or the smaller scale local Regional Seminars. There are inspirational displays and demonstrations, FABULOUS prizes and giveaways and the opportunity to participate in card swaps with other demonstrators. Having attended a number of Stampin' Up! events now, I can promise you, they are a BLAST from start to finish!
Free stuff! As a customer or hostess, you would be familiar with the different promotions that are available from time to time. It is no different for demonstrators! Several times per year we have the opportunity to earn free stamp sets through different promotions.

The money! I'll be honest with you... When I started with Stampin' Up! all I hoped to achieve was to be able to buy myself some stampin' stuff at a discount and maybe sell enough to other people to fund my own habit without going into the family grocery money to buy stamps! Well a few years down the track, I have funded a very nice collection of stamps, inks and accessories and have pretty much run out of things to spend money on, so I'm earning myself a nice income sharing my love of stamping with others. Who would have thunk it?!
The incentives! To help you get off to a flying start on your Stampin' Up! adventure, there is a great incenvtive program allowing you to earn free stamps based on your sales and recruiting efforts within your first six months. Then there is the all expenses paid trip for two to an exotic location that you can work towards every year!
The company! Believe it or not Stampin' Up! is a company that really cares! They look after their own in a way that I have never seen in any business I have ever worked in. They are also extremely generous in giving to fundraising efforts that benefit communities where their demonstrators reside, particularly in the areas of education and health.
The website! The Stampin' Up! demonstrator website is a fabulous resource for creative ideas, business tips and a place to connect with your fellow demonstrators.
Is there a minimum I have to maintain in sales?
To remain active as a demonstrator you need to maintain sales of $440 per quarter (3 months). Even if you sign up as a hobby demonstrator, this could easily be maintained by making occasional sales to your stampin' friends in addition to your own purchases. Otherwise, you should find that one or two workshops per quarter will keep you actively maintaining your sales quota.
Do I have to do workshops?
Only if you want to! The choice is absolutely yours. If you never want to present a workshop, then you never have to, but if you would like to do workshops, then it's entirely up to you the kind of workshop schedule you maintain.
How can I earn money?
You earn an immediate 20% on all of your sales and in any given month, you can earn up to an additional 12% depending on your level of sales in that month. If you choose to build a team of your own by sharing the Stampin' Up! opportunity with others, you can also earn what is called a 'downline override' which the company pays to you based on the sales of your recruits 5 levels down.
Do I have to keep products 'in stock'?
No, you will place orders that are paid for in advance by your customers so you won't need to keep an inventory.
Do I need an ABN?
No. This used to be a requirement for becoming a demonstrator, but as of early 2011, this requirement was dropped making it even easier to love what you do and share what you love!
Do I get any training?
As your upline, I am here to help in any capacity that you require on your stampin' journey and am always just a phone call or email away. I am not the kind of upline who will pressure you to do any more than you are happy to do, but if you require extra support in any area of your business (or hobby!) then I am more than happy to help in whatever way I can - all you need to do is ask! I hold quarterly team stamping days and regular casual get-togethers and have an online team forum where we share various aspects of our Stampin' Up! adventures.
Stampin' Up! also provides a variety of valuable resources, including the demonstrator website, Demonstrator Support agents, the monthly full-colour Impressions magazine, demonstrator events including the yearly convention and regional training seminars, a training DVD, demonstrator manual and product guide, plus a series of 'Ready-Set-Start' email newsletters designed especially for demonstrators just starting out.

What if I decide it's not for me after I've signed up?
Then you simply stop placing orders. There are no penalties or requirements to pay anything back if you decide not to continue at any point after having signed up as a demonstrator. If you don't meet your sales requirements for any given quarter, after giving you a chance to make it up if you'd like to, Stampin' Up! will just 'drop' you and you go on your merry way!
DISCOUNT DEMONSTRATOR: Likes the idea of buying stamps for personal use at a discount and occasionally sells to friends and family.
SHORT-TERM DEMONSTRATOR: Sells for a short period of time to earn a specific amount of money and stops when the goal is reached.
HOBBY DEMONSTRATOR: Loves doing workshops and earning extra money when it is convenient, works a lot some months and very little other months, likes to do workshops that are easy to book, doesn't like to work too hard to book workshops.
CAREER DEMONSTRATOR: Views a Stampin' Up! demonstratorship as a viable business with long-term career potential, pursues management and wants to move up the career ladder, loves attending Stampin' Up! events and has developed close social relationships with other demonstrators, works at her business in a consistent and outgoing manner.
The flexibility of a Stampin' Up! demonstratorship allows you to put your own personal spin on how you run it, whether it's as a business with fantastic support from a great company, or just a hobby with fabulous benefits!
