In uncharted territory…

in 3D Projects, Stamping

Let me just say, right up front, that I love Stampin’ Up!’s colour range.  I love that everything effortlessly co-ordinates and that they take the rocket science out of stamping and scrapbooking by making everything just go together.

Having said that, out of the 48 colours in the colour families, it’s natural that some will be your go to colours, and some will be, well, that little bit more challenging to use.

And everyone’s go to colours will be different, as will be their bogey more challenging colours.

I am exactly the same, and will admit that there are a few colours of cardstock in my shelf that are the original sheets from the very first packs of assorted colour family cardstock that I purchased over three years ago!

Some of them have a 1″ hole punched out of them for purposes of constructing a colour swatch chart, but other than that, are entirely untouched.

Of all of my bogey more challenging colours, I have one that has by far the highest difficulty rating for me.  Can anybody hazard a guess which one it might be?  Perhaps it’s the same as yours.  Or maybe it’s even one of your go to colours!  Who knows?!

Well, the good news is that I actually used it!  Not a huge amount, but there is now more than a 1″ hole missing from the very first piece of this colour cardstock that I ever owned.

And I used the ink too!  Other than the aforementioned colour swatch chart, this was its virgin outing as well.

Here’s a sneaky peek of the project that I will share in its entirety tomorrow…

Hint:  neither of the two really obvious colours you can see here are the bogey more challenging colour in question

In the meantime, tell me what colours you have the most trouble using and which ones seem to pop up in almost everything you create :)

I see something green peeking underneath the ribbon. Is that your bogey colour? Garden Green or Glorious Green or one of the like?

I love Regal Rose, Rose Red and Brocade Blue. I have a lot of bogies / bogey-s in the Soft Subtles family. Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow, Mellow Moss, Apricot Appeal,… need I go on?

OK Sahr I think todays bogey for you is glorious green….or maybe taken with teal. Can’t wait to see the finaly project.

My bogeys…..would definitely still (after 3 years too) be on my first sheet of handsome hunter, bravo burgundy & bordering blue, glorious green, only orange & yo yo yellow. I hyperventilate just thinking about using them.

What shows up everywhere? certainly celery of course! (ALL my friends & customers know I have quite the obsession). Then we also have rose red, old olive & choc chip. Riding hood red, baja breeze & kiwi kiss are current faves too.

Hugs
Di :o )

Ooh, I’m thinking that’s some Glorious Green you have happening there!
My most un-favourite and most un-touched colours are Gable Green, Only Orange, Always Artichoke and Apricot Appeal.
My most used colours are Rose Red, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Old Olive & Chocolate Chip!
Look forward to seeing that project tomorrow! You do like teasing us, don’t you!

Ok, the colour that I LOATH is Green galour, followed very closely by Yoyo yellow, only orange and absolutely Brilliant blue!!!!! I personally to this day have not EVER used Yoyo yellow or Only orange and like you they sit there patiently waiting for their one moment of fame!!! I think they’ll be waiting a LONG TIME…..
My guess for your colour is green galour, it would work with those other colours well… of course i’m probably wrong but I look forward to popping back tomorrow and seeing what is revealed!!!
So great you being around lately!! THanks for taking the time, I know it’s hard but man I’ve loved this!!!
Hugs Sharnee :0)

I would have to agree with Glorious Green, Handsome Hunter, Yoyo yellow, Only Orange as ‘bogey’ colours and I am not a big fan of Taken with Teal. As for favourite colours, all of the pinks, Chocolate chip, regal rose and rose red. I am surprised by Apricot Appeal being a bogey colour – I quite like it especially with pinks and greens or blues and greens.
