Hostess card compendium
I have just finished off a gift for the hostess of a workshop that I have tomorrow night (hi Nadia, I’m VERY excited!!) and realised that I had not yet posted another of the hostess gifts that I made up for one of my recent hostesses (waving Barbara!). I had SO much fun making this one (actually who am I kidding, I have fun with them ALL!) and there are a lot of different pictures to show all the different bits, so hang in there!
This is what it looks like from the outside. It’s a card compendium containing a set of very simple but stylish cards with matching stamped envelopes.
On the cover, I used a piece of chipboard from the Trimmings set of On Board chipboard in the Spring Mini Catalogue and covered it with a piece of River Rock stamped in the Linen background to match in with the linen texture of the other cardstock used. You can see a bit more of the detail in the picture to the right - just click on it to see a larger version!
For the cards inside, I made two each of three different designs, all using the same template, so they were very quick and simple. You can click on the pictures below to see them larger and in more detail…

And finally, here is a picture of them all tucked inside (actually minus the one that I demonstrated at the actual workshop!), with the matching envelopes behind and the decorated “belly band” that holds it all neat and closed resting on the top!
So who wants to be my next hostess?!! I have so much fun making simple but funky gifts for my hostesses and would LOVE to make one for you! Contact me to book your workshop date today!

Hi Sarah, I love this gift. Great way to demonstrate & give as a hostess gift at the same time. In my web searching I found a demo for this, but now I don’t know where I saw it. Can you help me if you know of a tutorial for this. Narelle
Hey Narelle! I have also seen similar things on the web, but for this I just made it up myself. I worked out how much card stock I’d need for the cover by measuring the cards and envelopes, then just scored lines where I wanted the folds. In the centre, I cut a bit out so that it would fold nicely… then you just do whatever you want for the band and that’s about it!
So pretty! Thanks for sharing.
Sarah these are lovely - such a special gift. I love this stamp set and the way you’ve used it is beautiful. So elegant and understated. Clever you! xxx
Your Blog is so beautiful thanks for sharing
Hi Sarah
These cards were SO GORGEOUS, I had to get the stamp set for myself and BORROW your idea and make a set of cards and Card Holder for a workshop of my own. I hope you don’t mind. THANKYOU for your inspiration!!!!
