Welcome Ethan - MDS baby announcements

If you follow my Instagram profile, last week you will have seen a snippet of a sweet little blue-eyed boy with a promise that I will upload the complete details of his birth announcement this week.

And here I am!

Although Mondays are ordinarily set aside for MDS posts, these past few days, I was recovering from our wildly fun and successful Party Time event that was on Saturday and my house required attention in its hugely shambolic, post-event state. Whether it's a stampin' event, university assignment or some other large and looming thing, I never seem to be able to keep my home life/housework chugging along at the same time. I always seem to have an empty pantry, a pile of washing, colonies of dust bunnies and vast piles of clutter to deal with in the aftermath. I feel that this is the perfect time to encourage comments in the vein of work/life balance tips, so please, hit me up with your best advice...

So now I feel mostly under control (I never did keep myself to high standards as far as housework was concerned anyway...) I can share this little guy in all of his teeny-tiny, blue-eyed sweetness!

But first the packaging....

Stamps: Amazing Birthday, Zoo Babies Paper: Soft Sky, Whisper White, Subtles Pattern Stack DSP Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Sky Accessories: Banners Framelits, Labels Framelits, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Whisper White Seam Binding, Linen Thread

I sent the stack of announcements through the post at the request of the receiving mumma, and even though she knew what the actual announcements looked like, I hoped to provide a bit of a sweet surprise in the presentation.

Once the box was opened, the announcements were wrapped up too...

...then one more opening and here he is...

And a close up of the announcement in case you're interested in what went into it...

I love the simplicity and mass-produceable-ness of using MDS for baby announcements. PLUS the fact that there are so many adorable downloads that lend themselves perfectly to the occasion.

If you're yet to check out MDS for yourself, you can grab a 30-day free download, or invest in the entire program for just $24.95.

Thanks for popping in and be sure to check back soon for a recap of our fabulous Party Time event!

This is a card that I made for a dear friend's baby shower last year (the baby associated with which just turned one this past month...)  At the time of the shower, we didn't know what flavour the bub was, so a selection of soft, muted tones was the go.

I was loathe to put up a card whose featured Designer Series Paper is a retired one, but as luck would have it, the delightful Tea for Two DSP that I used is on the Clearance Rack for a mere $6.79. Happy days!

Another card that I made earlier this year for another baby shower uses the same alphabet set in less of a featured way, along with the oh so sweet Zoo Babies, which thankfully will be playing on into the new catalogue year...

Stamps: Zoo Babies, Morning Post Alphabet, Pennant     Parade     Ink: C alypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede Paper: Pistachio Pudding, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, I Am Me DSP     Accessories: Large Scallop Edgelit Die, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Dotted Ribbon Punch, Delicate Designs Embossing Folder; So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Crisp Canteloupe & Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Markers; 1/8" White Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Linen Thread, Stampin' Dimensionals

This one is a double size card to accommodate the wishes of all the school mums who signed it for the new mummy to be.

The time, the "B" from the alphabet set formed the background of the cute little swing tag...

I used the double punching trick from my previous post to make a starburst shape from my 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch - there's a how-to in that post if you want to check it out :-)

Grab the Morning Post Alphabet set (25% off in woodmount!) along with any of your other must haves from the Retiring List while you still can - tomorrow is the final day!

25th Anniversary celebrations continue + a flippin' awesome new card making tool

As if Stampin' Up! hasn't brought enough gifts to the Anniversary party this month, now you can celebrate further with 25% off selected stamp sets.

And quite the array of incredible stamp sets it is, with many of my current go-to sets, making an appearance in the list.

One favourite listing is Zoo Babies, the delightful set of patterned animal stamps that I used to make this card for my gorgeous cousin in England who welcomed her handsome little man a couple of months ago.

Also brand new today are these fun and funky additions to the Stampin' Up! range.  My pre-order brown box containing this very thing arrived on my porch not 15 minutes ago, so you can bet your buttons I'll be playing with them as soon as I've finished here!

Check 'em out in action in this video...
