Bloomin' Painted Petals + a giveaway

The Painted Petals stamp set and co-ordinating Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper would have to be one of the major success stories of the current Occasions Catalogue. Effortlessly pretty and easy to use, it has so very many applications, from a simple one-layer card, to a more detailed, vintage design.

Here's an example of single layer simplicity...

Stamps: Painted Petals Paper: Whisper White Ink: Daffodil Delight, WIld Wasabi, Rose Red, Blackberry Bliss, Pacific Point

For an example of the more layered, vintage style, check out this card I posted a couple of months back for a team challenge...

Neither of these products have made the cut for the new catalogue, so come June 2nd, when the Occasions Catalogue breathes its last breath, sadly, so do they...

Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper

I realised that I have rather a collection of Painted Petals and Painted Blooms cards that I have never actually shared here, and should I start do do so now, I would be blogging almost daily, about nothing other than this stamp set and Designer Series Paper, right up until the end of the catalogue!

Instead, I have collated pictures of the cards into a pdf that I am going to make available to everyone who orders the Painted Petals stamp set from me during the next couple of weeks while it's still available*.

In addition, I will post you a FREE 6"x6" set of papers from the Painted Blooms DSP (6 different sheets in total), so in addition to seven pages of inspiration, you will have a head start on the things you need to recreate the cards for yourself.

To order your stamps, head on over to my online store, where you will find Painted Petals available in your choice of wood mount, clear mount or photopolymer. Photopolymer is a clear (geddit?!!) favourite for me, making for quick and easy lining up of the two step images.

*Please note that the pdf includes 16 large, colour images of the card samples, but detailed instructions are not included

Weekly Deals + Retiring List Live Tomorrow!

crazy about you bunts birthday peek.jpg

It's back to school day for half of my children today - high school girl gets an extra two days before she starts back, much to the disgust of the small one, who had to frock up in her winter uniform bright and early after a fabulously restful two week break! School holidays always mean a relatively quiet time on the blog as I hang out with my girls and spend a bunch more time in pyjamas than would ordinarily be deemed civilised...

But I'm here now, to let you know a couple of things that are going on around the stampin' scene...

Weekly Deals are ongoing with some great ones this week, ending tomorrow! Check them out...

I grabbed some of the Washi Sheets from the Occasions Catalogue when it first went live and they're great for adding a bit of decorative flair.

Stamps: Crazy About You, Daydream Medallions, Kind & Cosy, Hello There (last three only used for the circular 'leftovers'!)   Paper: Naturals White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Typset Specialty DSP   Ink: Pool Party, Soft Suede, Night of Navy Accessories: Hello You Thinlits, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Subtles Candy Dots, Neutrals Candy Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamps: Crazy About You, Daydream Medallions, Kind & Cosy, Hello There (last three only used for the circular 'leftovers'!) Paper: Naturals White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Typset Specialty DSP Ink: Pool Party, Soft Suede, Night of Navy Accessories: Hello You Thinlits, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Subtles Candy Dots, Neutrals Candy Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

This is a card that I made for my lovely Father-in-law's birthday at the end of last month and I love how it turned out!

The different circles were achieved in a variety of ways - some stamped with the centres 'left-over' rubber out of open circular stamps, some punched out of Typeset Specialty DSP, and a couple punched out of the Washi Sheets - I used the grey grid pattern.

A smattering of Candy Dots from the Subtles and Neutrals packs keeps within the circles theme and finishes it off nicely...

QUICK TIP When punching the Washi Sheets, use a scrap of cardstock to add some bulk and strength to the Washi Sheet, as they don't punch out very well on their own (ask me how I know...)

Washi Sheets and all other current Weekly Deals are available until 11.59pm (AEST) tomorrow, before they clear off to make way for the next batch, so if any of the deals catch your eye and you fancy scoring them for a fabulous discount, I suggest you get on it...

In other news, the retiring list for the current Annual Catalogue goes live TOMORROW, meaning there's likely to be a bun fight over these colours shown above. I would suspect they'd have to have been the most popular set of In-colors ever (at least, they certainly have been in my craft room, and quite frankly, I'm not sure how I'll manage without the option of Coastal Cabana...)

It's usually the case that retiring In-colors are among the first items to run out when the retiring list goes live - particularly re-inkers - so if you own the ink pads, I strongly suggest you act now to secure the re-inkers for your pads, plus any other In-color products BEFORE the retiring list hits and the feeding frenzy begins!

SHOP THE RETIRING 2013-15 IN-COLORS NOW

IMPORTANT - CONTRARY TO THE PRINTED DATE ON THE FRONT COVER OF THE CURRENT ANNUAL CATALOGUE,THE END DATE OF THIS CATALOGUE WILL NOW BE TUESDAY JUNE 2ND. THE BRAND NEW ANNUAL CATALOGUE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE FROM ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 3RD

I'm equal portions nervous and excited to see what the retiring list holds tomorrow. It's always sad to see favourites disappear, but knowing that they're making way for exciting new products eases the pain somewhat.

{VINTAGE} A team challenge...

I mentioned in a recent post that we were running fortnightly stampin' challenges on my team's Facebook page and I'm back this morning to share my latest entry.

This fortnight was a themed challenge, the theme being vintage. I was hopeful that some sponged edges and the inclusion of lace would pass, as I'm a bit light on for actual stamped images that could be considered in keeping with the theme.

Here's what I came up with...

Stamps: Painted Petals, And Many More, Dictionary, Gorgeous Grunge   Paper: Crumb Cake, Naturals White, Typeset Specialty DSP   Ink: Rose Red, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso   Accessories: 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Venetian Crochet Trim, Epic Day Washi Tape, Linen Thread, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals

Happiest of birthdays (last week!) to my beautiful mum and Nanny of my girls. We are so very fortunate to have your loving, positive influence in all of our lives. Thank you for all that you are and all that you do for us xoxo

Thanks for popping in and sharing Nanny's birthday with me today!

{LOVE} a team challenge...

Hello, friends. Happy Sunday!

Today I am sharing a card that came about as a result of a fortnightly challenge that runs on my team Facebook page. We take turns setting different challenges - it might be a sketch, a colour combination, an image inspiration or a general theme - and everyone can join in and post a project to the challenge album if they want to. We've found it's a great way to get out of the stampin' rut that we can all fall into from time to time and it's always fun to see the different directions that others take their challenges in.

This fortnight's themed challenge was LUUUURVE...!

It was set almost two weeks ago, perfectly in time for Valentine's Day, but since the challenge period was a whole fortnight, and there's no reason to *ahem* rush these things, I just got done this afternoon.

I do love it though, and considering that we don't really 'do' Valentine's Day at my house, I figure I'm not late for that, I'm just early for giving my husband a 'Love You' card next week. On Tuesday. Just because...

Stamps: Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Crazy About You Paper: Naturals White, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Typeset DSP   Ink: Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake (sponging) Accessories: Hello You Thinlits, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits (heart), Venetian Crochet Trim, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamps: Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Crazy About You Paper: Naturals White, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Typeset DSP Ink: Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake (sponging) Accessories: Hello You Thinlits, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits (heart), Venetian Crochet Trim, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals

I am a huge fan of the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set. Not only does it work perfectly with the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Project Kit, as it was designed to, it a sweet set of images for all kinds of purposes.

See....?!

Here are a couple of sweet note cards that shared on my Instagram profile last week that also use this set...

What are YOU loving the best out of the Occasions Catalogue? My favourites tend to change daily, and are largely influenced by the amazing amount of inspiration in the stampin' blogosphere. Stampers are SO flippin' clever!

Speaking of the blogosphere, I posed a little question on my Facebook page during the week. I'm interested in the number of peeps who still read blogs, and those who tend to favour more visual mediums such as Instagram and Pinterest that have popped up more recently.

What's your preference for seeking out stampin' inspiration these days? Join the conversation.

Thanks for popping in!

Come and stamp a stack of stuff!

I have been quiet. At least as far as my blog is concerned. With summer holidays in full swing, I have been thoroughly enjoying time with my girls undertaking all kinds of summer holiday pursuits. Outings and sleepovers, swimming and sightseeing, visits to parks and movies and just hanging out together and with friends. It's been wonderful, and we still have two weeks until the school term starts.

I have also been busy in my craft room, playing with all kinds of loveliness from the Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration promotion items, and I have created a Back to School event to share the love with local peeps!

So get busy covering the text books, labeling the pencils and buying the new lunch boxes, then join me the weekend after school heads back for some well-deserved stampy time!

No kids to send back to school...?! Join us anyway (and feel absolutely free to volunteer to assist with my pencil labeling....)
