We're on the final day of the Annual Catalogue for 2013-2014 AND the amazing Occasions Catalogue that has graced us for the past several months, but as with all good things that come to an end, aside from the amazing goodness that they're making way for with the brand NEW catalogue that's coming our way, I'd like to take a moment to be so very grateful for the catalogue brilliance that Stampin' Up! come out with year after year.
It truly never ceases to amaze me that they smash it out of the park, time after time.
So Very Grateful also happens to be the name of this beautiful stamp set that is currently amongst the goodness available in the Occasions Catalogue but that won't be carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue.
I can so clearly remember making this card, and the occasion is something else I'm so very grateful for...
I was at my lovely folks' place one evening several months ago, my handsome man was at work, my girls were in bed and my dad was watching something (likely sport of some description) on the tv.
My sweet mum - an avid stamper and Stampin' Up! demonstrator herself - suggested that we head to the dining room table and get our craft on. As difficult as it might be to imagine, I didn't jump to this suggestion - I truly didn't feel like crafting and didn't have any burning desire to create anything in particular.
I also couldn't think of anything I would rather be doing, so we sat at the table and just played. And I'm SO thankful for the cajoling of my dear mum that got me there. I lost myself in colouring and chatting and emerged several hours later in a much lighter mood than I had started.
That's the beauty of this craft. And the beauty of a mum who knows you better than you know yourself...
Here's another card using the same stamp set in a slightly different colour combination - stamped and coloured on the same evening, but put together at a later date in my craft room...
The "outside the circle" cutting was achieved by punching out a scrap of cardstock with my 2-1/2" Circle Punch, placing it over the stamped image and tracing lightly around it with a pencil. Then using my Paper Snips, I cut around the traced lined until I hit an area where the stamped image went beyond the circle, cut around that, then headed back to the traced circle.
Several products used on these cards will be no longer as of around nine hours from now, so if you love So Very Grateful, the Crochet Trim, Delicate Doilies Sizzlets, any of the 2014-2016 In-color Stretch Ruffle Trim, or anything else on the Retiring List or in the Occasions Catalogue, I would suggest a quick visit to my online store to grab your must haves while you still can...
In the spirit of today's post and stamp set name, what are you so very grateful for...?
