Fun with Family & Friends

Here’s a fun card featuring a whole crowd of family & friends! I loved this stamp set on sight and had heaps of fun playing around with it when it first appeared in the Occasions Catalogue back in January.

I wanted to test out a few different characters and also thought it would be fun to stamp them tone-one-tone onto Crumb Cake, so that’s where I started, and here’s where I finished up…

A tip for stamping a background like this one…

Don’t start in the top corner!

I started my line up of characters in the middle of the first row, as I wanted to make sure I didn’t cut off any heads at the top, but I also didn’t want the first character on the left to be whole and perfect and the rest of them lopped off. The finished background looks as though it was a larger piece of patterned paper chopped up into a card size, which is exactly what I’m going for whenever I stamp a background

I wanted to keep the focal point fairly simple, so as not to overshadow the people-y background of the card. I thought the ‘thanks from all of us’ greeting worked perfectly with the crowd and the small pops of colour were all that were needed.

I LOVE this stamp set, but since it’s not carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue, if you also love it and don’t already own it, you’ll need to do something about that before the 3rd of June…

Thanks for coming to hang out with me and all my friends and family today!
