Every year without fail, we get to this point in the catalogue year, where Designer Series Papers are poised to be moved along in favour of fresh new designs, and I seem to have reams and reams of the stuff left over that I have never got around to using.
I think it's a bit of carryover from my childhood, when I collected pretty papers not to use, but simply to own. Just because. And the idea of actually cutting into them was ludicrous!
I'm getting better, sort of, but my groaning paper storage area might beg to differ...
Aaaaanyway, I have been determined to make use of the lovely patterns and designs of the still current DSP while it's still current (TWO MORE DAYS!) and today I bring you the card that I made for my big girl when she turned 11 at the end of last month...
It's a bit on the busy side, but I LOVE all of the fun stuff bursting off of it!
...like this sweet birthday cake image on a sunny starburst!
Recognise the starburst..?
It's actually the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, punched twice with the help of a sticky note. Here, let me show you...
I'm a big fan of tips and tricks that maximise opportunities to use the gear that I invest in. My scallop punches in their various sizes provide me with several starburst shaped options that happily slot in between the different sizes provided by my Starburst Framelits. Awesome!
You might not recognise the stamped images - they're from a brand new stamp set called Amazing Birthday, due out with the new Annual Catalogue in mere days. It's a fabulously versatile stamp set with simple and very usable images.
Here's another stamp from the set, used simply with markers, to create a birthday card for one of my big girl's besties, whose birthday is just a couple of weeks after hers...
Being their last year of Primary School, it was a whole class party - 30 kids - with a theme of The Amazing Race, so this large image in the stamp sent was beyond perfect for the occasion, as was the world map design in the I Am Me pack of Designer Series Paper (discounted by 30%).
Speaking of discounts, there was a whole stack of new stuff added to the Clearance Rack a couple of days ago, including swag of retired Christmas gear. Get a head start on your festive crafting at some magnificent prices by visiting the Clearance Rack section of my online store and bagging some awesome deals...
...and speaking of awesome deals, the best deal around is available only for another two days. Check out the demonstrator opportunity for just $85 until June 30!
SO much exciting stuff happening at the moment and I have lots more to share from my recent craft room exertions, stay tuned as we keep saying goodbye to the retiring and hello to the incoming!
