MDS tutorial, design team complete + 30% off selected seasonal downloads

I promised in my previous post that I had a tutorial video coming to show how I achieved one of the fun techniques on the layout I made for my MDS Design Team introduction, and here it is now!

For your viewing and digital learning pleasure, I bring you my guide to creating your own cute digital washi tape!

The MDS design team that I am so ridiculously excited to be included on is now complete with the introduction of the final two members, Cori and Teneale just a couple of days ago.

Make sure to visit the dedicated My Digital Studio website to keep updated with all of the digital goings on and design team work!

By no means least, the final thing I want to share with you today is that you can score an incredible collection of Holiday and Christmas themed downloads at 30% off until 30 November.

I have already taken myself on a bit of a shopping expedition and have plans for some cute Christmas themed decor for our home and Christmas celebrations.  The Season of Style Pocket Cards pictured above were high on my agenda and for $6.27, I really couldn't leave them there.

Or any of the other ones that made it into my basket...

What I love about so many of the available downloads is the amount of content you get inside, this one being a great example.

As well as all of the complete, pre-designed pocket cards that allow you to simply print and go, you also get masses of components that make up the designs, including a 24 piece digital stamp set and 46 embellishments, which can be used in any other projects that you you might be undertaking.

Check out all of the downloads included in the offer and get your Christmas digi on today...

New MDS downloads, a quick online shopping tip + a new video!

This week's MDS downloads are as cool as ever, particularly since one of them is FREE!  Check 'em out...

Take a look at all the latest My Digital Studio downloads...

On the subject of digital downloads, here's a bit of a shopping tip for you if you tend towards a try before you buy mindset...

When you are browsing my online store for new downloads, it's possible to see in more detail than the sneak peek images exactly what is contained in each kit, stamp set etc.

Below is an example of what you see when you are looking at a particular download.  It includes information on what is contained in the kit, plus the co-ordinating colours to the right of the image.  You can zoom in on the image itself just by clicking on it, but it doesn't show you exactly what elements the kit contains.

This information is available by clicking on the "MORE IMAGES" link as seen in the example below...

The following screen then opens up, which gives you the option of looking through the entire contents of the kit by clicking on each element on the right hand side to bring up a large preview on the left hand side and using the PREV and NEXT links to navigate through.

I thought this was a pretty cool feature, so I hope it's a useful one for you!

I have another video for you today too, this one shows you how I created the "Oh My Giddy Aunt" framed image for my mum in my previous blog post.  Hopefully it also shows you how quickly and simply you will be able to create your own personalised gifts and artwork :-)

I absolutely love all of the different word art options that are around in the home decor scene these days, but what I love even more is that I can take my favourite quote, put it in my favourite font, match it to the colours of the room I'm decorating or that of the person I'm giving it to and I have a personalised piece of art that is not mass produced and gracing the living room wall of every other person in the country.

Are you inspired to  make yourself some word art too...?

Sent with love + a quick MDS how to video

It's terribly remiss of me not to have dedicated a post to this little special sooner, but with so much going on at Stampin' Up! in recent times, I'm afraid I've rather neglected to tell you about the Sent with Love special offer!

So I'm doing it with gusto today with a set of five co-ordinated note cards and envelopes featuring the Stamps and Designer Series Paper in this sweet promotion.

Until June 15th, you can score this exclusively available bundle of products, which includes the Stamp Set, Designer Series Paper and Calypso Coral Baker's Twine at a 20% discount.  Alternatively you can purchase the products individually, which is still limited to the June 15th deadline, but without the attached discount.

There's even a Sent with Love MDS kit available for download!  Sweet!

Check out all of the products in this special by visiting the dedicated page in my online store...

As alluded to at the end of yesterday's post, I have created a video to show a couple of techniques in MDS that I used in the scrapbook layout that featured in that post.

It's my first MDS tutorial video, but I have more in the works and am excitedly looking forward to sharing them with you in the not too distant future...

Would love to know if the video was helpful to you!

Leave a comment and let me know :-)

White on white & a Stampin' 101 video tutorial

This is one of my favourite cards from the recent batch that I have made with products from the Seasonal Catalogue.  I'm loving the white on white and the subtle colours of the stamped images with a touch of Basic Gray and the addition of some Chevron texture :-)

I have created a video to show you how I cut with scissors, which in and of itself is not really a stampin' technique, but with a couple of simple tips, hopefully the process of "fussy cutting" might be slightly simplified and streamlined for you.

  • For this type of neat, close cutting, you can't go past the Paper Snips (130579 - $16.95) from Stampin' Up!  Small and sharp, they make fussy cutting a breeze!
  • The product bundles in the Seasonal Catalogue give you way more bang for your buck!  The bundle featuring the Oh Hello stamp set that I have used in this card, along with the Ovals Collection Framelitsfor use with the Bigshot will save you 15% on the cost of purchasing the products individually.  You can't argue with that ;-)

If you found value in today's video, please let me know!  I'm still quite new to this video thing, and while I'm enjoying the learning process of making and editing them, I'd love to know that they are a helpful resource for you!

If you have any suggestions for future video topics, please be sure to leave me a comment to let me know :-)

My first video tutorial!

Hopefully it will be the first of many, but if the extended hair-pulling, teeth-gnashing, software-swapping, massive learning-curve(ing) experience that was my day today is anything to go by, I'm not sure that I can promise anything at this stage!

It is way past the time that I prefer to be long asleep these days, but having spent pretty much all day - most of it in pyjamas - trying first to start up and use the most frustrating piece of computer software I have ever known (I had higher hopes for you Adobe...), then finding what seems at this stage to be a much better editing option (yay for you, Sony!), then spending the rest of the day nutting out exactly how to edit the footage that I recorded yesterday, there is no way on God's green earth that I'm going to end this day before I have  shared the fruits of my extremely laborious labour.

So here it is - my first attempt at a video tutorial.

Please excuse the various part of the video where it appears that I have lost the ability to speak English.  I'm sure I will get used to chatting to a camera that is hovering above my right ear if I do it a bit more often.

Oh, and please also excuse my head that keeps popping into the frame at the bottom left.  You're just lucky it's out of focus, or you'd be subjected to the patch of grey hairs that I have right there.

Ok, I'll shut up now (can you tell I'm a bit nervous.....?!)

I don't currently have the capacity to upload in HD, so apologies for the quality being not so great.  It's another thing I hope to rectify if indeed I am able to make some more tutorial videos.

Right, I'm done!

Thanks for visiting (and watching if you hung around for the show!)  I'd love to hear any feedback that you might have on my first video effort :)
