Blogging Bonanza Day 3 - Beautiful You...

Stampin' Up! Beautiful You |

Beautiful You. Such an apt name for this stamp set and the recipient of this card that I created with it. A dear friend of mine turned 40 last month and we celebrated with high tea at a revolving restaurant on the 33rd floor of a city building with views across Perth.

And I celebrated her with this card :-)

The image is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink onto a large-ish piece of Watercolour Paper, then coloured with Watercolour Pencils and an Aquapainter. I love how the soft colouring sort of fades into the background, it's one of my favourite effects when colouring on watercolour paper...

The entire base of the card is covered in the beautiful water image paper from the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack

More Designer Series Paper is featured in the image of the girl, paper pieced from a bit of Serene Scenery for her hat and Fruit Stand for her summery, polka dot dress. I added some shading and hopeful realism with Watercolour Pencils

A lovely little cluster for the birthday greeting is made up of some white embossing, a sliver of Linen Thread, a dash of doily and an enamel heart shape from the Subtles collection

It's a great time to grab any (or all!) of the Designer Series Papers (DSP) that I've used here. DSP never carries over, which is sad in one way, like when you have a special place in your heart for a particular design. Can you tell I'm speaking from (ten years of!) experience with these things..?! But it also makes way for brand new and gorgeous designs to take their place, so the hurt doesn't last for TOO very long.
