All new cling stamps!

If you’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s red rubber clear mount stamps for a while, chances are you’ve been frustrated from time to time about the lack of stick-ability of the stamp to the clear blocks. I have been known to add a dab of adhesive to the backs of my rubber images, or to bypass the image label altogether in an attempt to ensure that the stamps stays stuck to the block for the entire time I need it to.

Nothing worse than having a partly or completely inked stamp drop into the middle of a partly or completely finished project, right?!

In the way that they so often do, Stampin’ Up! has heard the pleas for help and developed a solution, tested it thoroughly in one of its smaller markets, and released it to us all with the arrival of the 2019 Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration promotion!

As with anything new, it’s important to take note of the differences between these and the “clear mount” stamps, as labelling cling stamps is a slightly different process than you may be used to. It is important to follow the steps below to assemble cling stamps. Each cling stamp case will also include labelling instructions.

Note: Once you place the label on the stamp, it is adhered permanently. Attempting to remove or adjust the label will damage the foam of the stamp.

  • Remove the paper backing from the label.

  • Remove your selected stamp from the rubber sheet and remove the paper backing from the stamp.

  • Line up the foam side of the stamp with the image label, then press it evenly to adhere it to the label. Make sure it is correctly positioned before you adhere it to the stamp.

  • Remove the stamp and its newly-affixed image label from the label sheet.

  • Place the stamp on an acrylic block to begin stamping.

Best Practices

To remove the stamp from the block, grasp securely near the image label and remove slowly. (Cling stamps stick so well that if they are not carefully removed from the block, the foam can tear.) To clean the labels, simply rinse under running water. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners.

More of a visual person..? How about some assistance of the video variety?

I already have several sets of cling stamps and love how well they stick to the blocks! I predict that you’re going to love working with them too.

Currently, there is a small selection of stamp sets available in the new cling style, however they will be phased in to replace clear mount stamps with the release of the next Annual Catalogue later this year.
