Meet my new friend, Eleanor...

Recently I had the opportunity to choose six stamp sets from the new Annual Catalogue without having to pay for any of them.  How fun is that?!  The good part was that they were free.  The bad part was that I had to narrow down my extensive wishlist to just six...

One of the sets that I decided on was Everything Eleanor - a vintage-y floral set that falls slightly outside of the stamping zone that I would normally consider comfortable.  Being a clean and simple kind of gal, vintage-y floral required more than a little bit of bravery and a sense of adventure beyond what would usually be required of me during a stint at my stamping desk...

The idea for the layout was borrowed from none other than the artist herself Teneale Williams - this amazing creations of hers to be precise.  I love how she overlapped the frame element in the background to form the horizontal strip.

Here is Eleanor in her entirety...

  • Don't discard the idea of a particular sheet of Designer Series Paper because it has a non-repeating pattern or image.  The piece I used in the background of this card has a large image of the Eiffel Tower and some flowers on it, but I just aimed my paper trimmer at the less busy part of the page and it fit my needs perfectly.
  • Be prepared to spend some time perfecting your watercolouring.  It's time consuming, but it's worth it.  Here's a link to how I do it.
  • The new Delicate Doilies Sizzlit is divine.  That is all.

Interested in how I managed to get six free stamp sets...?  It's one of the many perks of being a demonstrator - I earned them based on the performance of this fun little business of mine during Sale-a-bration earlier in the year.  The best part is, opportunities to earn such amazing rewards are available to anybody -by simply signing up to be a demonstrator, you open yourself up to these fabulous perks as well :-)
