This card comes to you from back in November last year when we were forced to purchase a new car due to the sudden and untimely demise of the previous one.
The purchase of big ticket items always make me incredibly nervous and assume that I am going to get ripped off, but happily, the private sale that saw us take ownership of our zippy little two door couldn't have been further from it, so lovely was the lady that we dealt with.
Naturally, a hand made card was in order...
For this card, I used my oldest stamp set - one that I got in my demonstrator starter kit - and it's still current after six years!
We didn't actually buy a truck, but seeing as I don't have any stamps with a Toyota Yaris (or any other car) on them, the fact that this had wheels was good enough for me ;-)
I spent quite a lot of time watercolouring the image (you can find a tutorial of how I like to watercolour ->HERE<-), and I was happy with the depth and colour that I managed to get :-) Other than that, I kept it quite simple so that the truck was the hero of the card (I think I've been watching too many reality shows....)
What's your oldest stamp set, and do you still use it and love it as much as ever...?!
