...makes for a very convenient excuse to try out my new gallery's photo posting function! Woo hoo! Look at the funky neat little border I get now :)
This is a card I made some months ago when I was trying out the faux tiling technique I found on Splitcoast (aka the grid technique).
I thought the Floral background would lend itself well to this technique and I decided to use Brocade Blue ink. The combination of the stamp and colour reminds me of my mother-in-laws amazing blue and white china collection!
The greeting at the top is a piece of On Board Chipboard covered in Very Vanilla ink (that's how old this card is -that ink retired with the last catalogue!) then embossed a few times with clear embossing powder. When the embossing powder was melted but still a bit warm and not completely set (ie. as SOON as you take the heat gun away!) I stamped "Mon Amie" from Carte Postale into it with Not Quite Navy Ink. The bird is also from Carte Postale and also in Not Quite Navy.
For the ribbon, I punched a chunk out of the Floral layer with my Large Oval punch and ran the ribbon underneath, tying it in a knot in the space left by the punch.
A quick thanks to those of you who have checked out the new gallery and taken the time to leave me a comment! I LOVE the features of the new set up and apparently, so do you, so we all win! Sweet :)
