Mother's Day - a week on...

I've had this card photographed and edited for a week now, but with colour challenge deadlines to meet and various other goings on, I'm only just getting the chance to upload it now.

mama mothers day 08

This is the card that I made for my wonderful mother-in-law last weekend.  I took inspiration from this card, which in turn was inspired by this card.  Don't you just love the creative merry-go-round that is stampin'?!  How a single idea can spawn myriad other just with a few little tweaks and personal touches.  I love that :)

Here I have used another bit of the Prints Designer Series paper that is currently on promotion, this time in Certainly Celery.

I unfurled my wide grosgrain in Regal Rose for the first time too -this is the most beautiful coloured ribbon!

The little flowers are one of the three different ones that make up the Spring flower bouquet Punch and  have added a Barely Banana brad through the centre of each and popped them up on dimensionals.  The stems are just hand-drawn with the thin end of my Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Marker.

The little swinging tag at the bottom is a combination of a heart stamp from Forever in my Heart and 'mum' from Expressive Fliexible Phrases, and is just held on by some linen thread.

Here is the card in more detail:

I thought I should add that the reason I haven't put a card up here for my own mum is that she left for a trip to the US and Canada two weeks ago and is currently living large in Las Vegas!!  Following that, she and dad and some friends are off to San Francisco, Monterey, Vancouver for a cruise up the coast of Canada and home via Hong Kong for a few days....  as you do!!  So if anybody from those parts of the world happen to be reading my blog, keep an eye out for a group of 4 rowdy Aussies in their 60's having the time of their lives!!!
