My big girl Hannah finished her first year of school this year (well kindergarten anyway!) and I can just tell she is going to love her time at school as much as I did! Her teachers were delightful - she had her regular teacher (Ms Angel - is that not the most apt name you've ever heard of for a kindy teacher?!) and assistant teacher (Mrs Daffin), but there were also two relief teachers (Mrs Stockey and Mrs Staples) that we saw quite a lot of through the year, so when the time came to make gifts, there were four that needed making! First of all, please excuse the quality of the photos. They were taken very quickly, at night, as soon as I'd finished making the gifts, but unfortunately after I realised that clear cellophane wrapping would not a fabulous photo make! So apologies for that!
On the left is another of my Red Dot store tins, this time freshened up with some Loves Me DS paper and wide chocolate grosgrain ribbon from the Summer Mini. The tin was filled with an assortment of different chocolates. On the right is notebook that I covered to match the tin. These notebooks are fabulous! In their raw state, their front and back covers are really thick chipboard and the spine is actually covered in fabric - this one is the bright pink (Pink Passion is a perfect match!) that you can see at the left. They come in 3 different sizes - A6, A5 and A4. I actually bought a few several months ago when I first found them at Officeworks, but then just before Christmas they had them out on clearance. It took all of my resolve not to pick up that entire clearance box and empty it into my trolley as I just LOVE these books, they are SO perfect for altering! In the end I think I bought about 15 in two different sizes and 3 different colours, plus some extras for mum :)
The little words stamped at the bottom of each book say "remember precious moments". These tiny stamps are from Expressive Flexible Phrases - a set that I LOVE and use all the time for making up little phrases for cards or scrapbook pages.
These gifts were for Hannah's full-time teacher and assistant, and the two relief teachers each received one of the chocolate filled tins.
Here is a picture of all the gifts together, along with a basket of candy canes that Hannah handed out to her little mates on the last day of school!
