Do you ever....

...see a new idea that you LOVE and just have to try straight away?? I did last night and despite promising myself an early-ish night, I scrapped until 1am! *oops* I was so excited to try this new idea I came across for the spiral punch and it simply wasn't going to wait!! I have barely even used my spiral punch since I got it from the Spring mini, so this was the perfect reason to dust it off! hannah filmstrip I love photos in a series and these ones are some that I particularly love. They were taken when Hannah was 10 months old, so a good few years ago now, but I thought they were perfect for the filmstrip idea!

The small pictures are all in black and white and the large one was in colour, but I played around with it in Photoshop as the couch in the background is bright blue and totally didn't fit with my colour scheme! So I changed that to black and white and kept Hannah and I in colour. I also took to the edges of the large photo with my sanding block as I wanted to give it a bit of a frame but without matting it onto another colour. One of my favourite things was making the little heart embellishment in the middle of the filmstrip. It is one of the pieces from the On Board Accents and I just sponged it with Cameo Coral ink, punched a 1-1/4" circle out of the striped paper from Spring Flowers, pierced a few holes around the edge and held it on with one of the spiral paperclip type things from my Hodgepodge Hardware. A teensy bit of chocolate grosgrain ribbon tied onto the paperclip and there you have an embellishment!

Here is is a little closer up:
