Baby shower card!

Last weekend I went to the baby shower of a dear friend of mine that I used to work with prior to leaving and having poppets of my own.  Tashie and Damo (aka Natasha and Damien :) ) are due to welcome their first bundle of love into the world on 08/08/08 – a very auspicious day!  They don’t know whether they’re having a boy or a girl….actually in fact, Tashie does, but Damo doesn’t and doesn’t want to know, so Tashie is keeping the information very close to her chest, thus leaving me with the challenge of making a non-gender specific baby card – not a speck of pink or blue in sight!!

I decided that my beloved Polka Dot background stamp clear embossed on a base of Very Vanilla would be a good start.  You can kind of see the effect of the embossing in the top right hand corner where the light is hitting it at an angle.  It’s a lovely soft and barely there background – just the effect I was going for :)

The main image is the two gorgeous creatures from Nursery Necessities, stamped non-gender-specifically in Certainly Celery and Barely Banana and raised up for a bit of dimension.  The elephant’s ear is cut out and raised up again.  Then a length of Very Vanilla Wide grosgrain finishes it off!  Can’t wait until Tashie or Damo junior arrives so I can go nuts with the relevant colour.. :)
