Baby card parade – Day 4

So as promised, here we have an idea for a twin card and I knew right away which stamp set would get in on the action for this one – can’t go past All in the Family!

This card is for one of my customers who added twin boys to her family last month, thereby being two thirds of the way to her very own Brady Bunch!  She already had two sweet little girls :-)

*waving* Anita!

I wanted to incorporate a colour that might not normally be associated with a baby card, so I used Not Quite Navy in combination with Bashful Blue – a much more baby-fied colour.

What do you think, does the Bashful tone down the Navy enough to make it pass for a baby combination?

I had a lovely time watercolouring the little fellas, and they really pop off the page with the addition of a light grey watercoloured border…

I’m rather partial to their rosy cheeks too…. ;-)

Tomorrow I’ll show you a sweet idea for a baby girl card using some gorgeous Designer Series Papers – I’ll see you then!

Not Quite Navy definitely works with Bashful Blue for a cute baby card. Did you just score the NQN cardstock to get the lines? I love that! Really adds texture and dimension. And I really do like your watercolouring techniques. Have yet to try them out though. I have no neutral colours in my sets of crayons and stamp pads. :( I’m waiting for my stash of pastels and markers to arrive though! :D

  • Sarah

Yep, the NQN card is scored using my bone folder and paper trimmer (look at you with your colour name acronyms – NQN indeed!) You MUST try watercolouring – you’ll love it!

I have watercoloured with my crayons, but they’re not quite the thing to use for details! I can’t wait for my pastels and markers! Ah! And my Level 3 Hand Drawn Bundle! Ah! The possibilities of colouring in the cupcake and coffee cup. *bouncing in chair* Out of curiousity – do you still get this excited with new stuff?

  • Sarah

No, I don’t get that excited anymore *cough cough splutter* You’re gonna LOVE Regionals…!

I love this card and the combo Sarah. I also like the grid lines running down the card. It’s refreshing to see a ‘strong’ boy baby card. You’ve done so v v well.

    Hi Anita!
How lovely to “see” you here! I can’t wait to meet the little fellas either! Take care :)

  • Sarah

Thanks Lynda! I like the combination too, although I had my doubts about whether it would be too strong for a baby (or two) :)
