A month of savings and *NEW* Stitched Shapes

Just last week, we Stampin' Up! demonstrators were given the heads up about a new product that was being released ahead of next year's Annual Catalogue, and just like that, with the beginning of November, here they are!

I can't profess to know the whys and wherefores of how decisions are made about product releases outside of official catalogue dates, but I don't really care to, all I know is that these new Framelits are taking their rightful place in my collection ASAP!

Check them out in this fun and informative video...

The Stitched Shapes Framelits are available RIGHT NOW, but before you head off to my online store, you might also like to know that this month, there is also a select range of stamp sets for 25% off the retail price...

I'm off now to finish packing before flying out to Brisbane this afternoon for the Stampin' Up! OnStage Live event! They're releasing the upcoming Occasions Catalogue to attending demonstrators and I'll be basking in the new catalogue glow with several hundred of my closest stampin' friends all weekend! Can't wait to share what we see (but don't hold your breath, we're sworn to secrecy until some time next week!)

Home again, home again + winners!

It's a fortnight today since I arrived home from my whirlwind and thoroughly amazing trip to the UK and Mediterranean, and having arrived back into life as I knew it before, along with all the various responsibilities and requirements that go along with it, it's almost difficult to believe that I was gone at all!

Except for the amazing memories that I will look back on forever. Oh, and the photos...

If you will humour me, here's a quick snapshot of my time away in pictures, starting with my couple of days in Yorkshire...

We packed in a bunch of stuff in the UK during the very short time I was there, but on Saturday morning, it was time to head off to Barcelona. Coming from Western Australia, it continually blows my mind that a mere 1.5 hour flight can deposit one in an entirely different country and culture, but such is the case with a flight from the UK to Spain!

Goodbye England! #soenglish #somuchgreen

We arrived into Barcelona in the late afternoon and left again the next morning, so rather than rush off and try to fit in any sights, we spent the time connecting with fellow demonstrators at the hotel. The evening was spent playing several pants-wettingly hilarious rounds of Heads Up with the Taylors, which I will admit was one of the many highlights of the entire trip!

The first day on board was a sea day, where we wandered the ship, ate our bodyweights in the various food options around the place, and hung out with fellow Stampin' Up! cruisers.

The next day we cruised into Naples, where we had booked a trip to go to the Isle of Capri. Sadly, the sea was deemed too rough to send the ferries over to the island, so instead, we grabbed a driver and a van with a crew of other peeps who had also been booked on the trip and saw some local sights instead. The coast drive was stunning...

Our third stop in Italy - and my favourite - was Livorno, which was another coach ride, this time into Florence. We wandered for five hours or so, dodging chic women on push bikes, vespas and small cars in narrow alleyways and crowds of people taking in the very same sights we were... I was determined (and successful!) in purchasing an Italian leather handbag and will treasure my Florence purchase for a long time to come

Day five saw us dock off the coast of France in Cannes. After our three days of pounding various Italian streets, we elected to stay on board this day and relax on the deck in the beautifully warm Mediterranean sun...

I had new togs for the trip and this was the one and only outing they had!

Day six was Marseilles. We boarded a bus to the port area and wandered the beautifully picturesque streets, stopping separately for coffee and crepes...

As well as the amazing stops we made and the sights we took in, the time on the ship itself was an amazing opportunity to connect with new and old stampin' friends and take in the many activities that were on offer. We saw a Cirque du Soleil show one night, Priscilla Queen of the Desert on another and Burn the Floor on yet another. There was karaoke and dance parties and endless opportunities for fun and/or misadventure.

A couple of our evenings started out like this...

I will be eternally grateful to Julie for taking me along as her guest, my family for being so loving as to allow me such an adventure (and doing a brilliant job of getting on without me for two weeks!), and Stampin' Up! for bringing so many fabulous people and opportunities into my life in these past ten years.

Inspiration from my inbox...

One of the things I love the most about the creative world is how you never have to come up with a single creative idea if you don't want to. If I'm having a mojo-less moment (or month!), a quick flip through my catalogues, a browse through Pinterest or a quick Google search will provide me with more than enough ideas to try without having to stare at a blank sheet of cardstock, hoping with all my might that it will turn into something fabulous #wishfulthinking

One of the things I love most about Stampin' Up! is how so much inspiration comes directly from the company itself. The aforementioned catalogues that arrive several times per year, filled with beautiful images and projects to try, the blog that is run from the US page of the company website, as well as fully stocked and regularly updated social media accounts that always have eye candy to offer.

One of the things I love most about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is the additional inspiration provided just for us, the demonstrator group. In addition to all of the inspiration already mentioned, demonstrators also enjoy:

  • Twice yearly live, local or online events with amazing demonstrations, tips and product giveaways
  • A quarterly hard copy magazine, filled with success stories from fellow demonstrators, business tips, technique and product spotlights, projects that come with full product lists and instructions for use in classes and workshops plus loads more
  • Weekly emails with additional projects, informational resources and links to pertinent information in the demonstrator website
  • An online forum where demonstrators from all over the world can connect and share their work and words of stampin' wisdom

Today's project comes directly from one of the Succeed Weekly emails that land in my inbox every Tuesday. It's always quite late in the evening when the emails arrive, so sometimes I have to deliberately avoid opening them, lest they cause me to drop everything and head directly to my craft room to spend some late evening hours avoiding going to bed, as was the case with these cards...

The Flowering Fields stamp set and Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper are both items that you can earn for FREE with Sale-a-bration, currently heading towards its final month! Got a wishlist that's overflowing and like the sound of the free-flowing inspiration-fest that's available to demonstrators?

Fancy getting your own products at a minimum 20% discount, as well as earning commission when you share your love of the products with others?

How about being surrounded by a team of like-minded crafters who create, share and inspire each other at team events and in our fun online community?

You might prefer to consider the demonstrator opportunity, which will provide all of the above and SO much more for the start up cost of just $169. Ordinarily, this outlay would provide you with a kit, made up of products of your choosing up to the value of $235, which is rather spectacular in the value department.

During Sale-a-bration however - ONLY until the end of March - you can choose an additional $60 worth of product for your kit, taking the total value to $295 for your $169 outlay.

The BEST part is that this offer is available to anyone...

Thinking you could do the occasional, informal class with your nearest and dearest fellow crafty types..? THIS OFFER IS FOR YOU TOO!

Wondering if you could make a real go of a home-based crafting business and go for all the amazing incentives and awards available to top achieving demonstrators...? THIS OFFER IS ALSO FOR YOU!

Thinking that you'd love to give it a shot, but are not sure if you can commit long term...? THIS OFFER IS MOST DEFINITELY FOR YOU! If at any time once you're a demonstrator, you decide that it doesn't fit with your life, you can drop, with no penalty and nothing to pay back.

100 Lucky Envelopes - the final update!

You might be aware of a little promotion that I was running during September in a final frenzy of action to see if I could gather the points required to earn the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation to the Mediterranean next year.

In my usual last minute, flying by the seat of my pants style, I realised that with a little bit of effort and a whole lot of luck, it wasn't entirely beyond the realms of possibility that I could be aboard that ship.

The effort was the part that I was entirely in charge of, and I had an amazing month running stamping events and workshops, stamping with old and new friends and thoroughly enjoying the flurry of stampin' activity.

In the final tally of points, I ended up just shy of 5000 short of my goal. I don't mind telling you that I considered - more than once - placing an order of my own for $5000 worth of Snail Adhesive refills, Whisper White cardstock and trimmer blades! After all, it would cost waaaay more than that to actually pay for a trip for two to the Mediterranean from my little corner of the world. In the end, common sense (just barely!) prevailed and I concluded the month happy with my efforts and determined to start a little sooner in my efforts for next year's trip...

For those who placed orders, hosted workshops, attended events, sent messages of support, cheered and otherwise supported my crazy little last minute effort, this is for you...

Stamps: A Whole Lot of Lovely (Stampin' Rewards exclusive)  Paper: Whipser White, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Watercolor Paper, Cherry on Top DSP stack Ink: Versamark, Whisper White Craft Ink, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Triple Banner Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punches, 1/16" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Clear Block, Stampin' Spritzer

Stamps: A Whole Lot of Lovely (Stampin' Rewards exclusive) Paper: Whipser White, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Watercolor Paper, Cherry on Top DSP stack Ink: Versamark, Whisper White Craft Ink, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Triple Banner Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punches, 1/16" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Clear Block, Stampin' Spritzer

I created the watery, washy colours in the background by inking up a Clear Block in Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo ink, spritzing with water then pressing it onto the Watercolor Paper, where I had previously stamped and clear embossed the image from A Whole Lot of Lovely. It's a fun and very versatile technique - change the stamp, change the colours, have fun!

Thanks again for following along last month and for all the support and cheerleading! I'm humbled by the many lovely messages I received and look forward to sharing exciting news about the 2017 Grand Vacation to Phuket around this time next year!

Once in a stampin' blue moon...

We are mere hours away from the release of the brand now Annual Catalogue for 2015-2016 and in addition to the excitement generated by this event every year, this year there's a bonus twist - one that I've never known to happen in more than nine years since I started as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Tuesday June 2nd 2015 is the FINAL day that you can purchase retiring items from the 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue, many of them heavily discounted.

It is also the FINAL day that you can purchase items from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue that won't be carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue.

The fun twist is that Tuesday June 2nd 2015 is also the FIRST day that you can purchase all new products from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue

Here's a pictorial guide to help you out...

But that's not all...

As any viable company must do, Stampin' Up! continually evaluate their pricing to ensure they're offering high-quality, competitively-priced products while also remaining profitable. To that end, some product lines will increase in price with the release of the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue, inclusive of ink pads and refills, the Bigshot machine and cutting pads, cardstock, extra large punches, background stamps and Project Life Card Collections.

The GREAT news is that on the transition day of June 2nd, when all catalogues are available to purchase from, items carrying over from the 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue to the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue will be available at their current (lesser) price before they are increased on June 3rd - this is your official heads up!

In addition, the Stampin' Rewards - previously known as Hostess Benefits - will be undergoing quite a simplification process, going from seven different earning brackets to just four.

Outgoing Hostess Benefits on the left, incoming Hostess Rewards on the right

Outgoing Hostess Benefits on the left, incoming Hostess Rewards on the right

The transition day of June 2nd will be the final day on which the outgoing Hostess Benefits will apply with hostess exclusive stamp sets from ALL THREE catalogues being available for selection. That's FOURTEEN different, hostess-exclusive, specially priced stamp sets, available all at once. For one day only.

Clearly, it's not going to be an option to pull together a Stampin' Up! party with such minimal notice, and luckily, you won't have to in order to take advantage of the rewards.

Any order that reaches the minimum level for Hostess Benefits ($300) is eligible to select the applicable rewards, and with so many catalogues and products to select from when putting together your order, there's a good chance you could be choosing some free gear for yourself.

Here's a recap of what's available on this once in my stampin' lifetime opportunity - between the hours of 2am (AEST) June 2nd and midnight (AEST) June 3rd, you can:

  • purchase brand new products from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue
  • purchase carryover items from the 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue at 2014-2015 prices before price increases take effect
  • purchase retiring items from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue
  • purchase retiring items from the 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue, many at up to 50% discount
  • take advantage of 2014-2015 Hostess Benefits
  • choose from 14 exclusively available hostess stamp sets
  • select from current Weekly Deals at 25% off
  • select from currently available Clearance Rack items at up to 80% off

At the time of writing this post, the online store was undergoing the transition and not available to link up directly to the different categories mentioned above. There's a chance I might be able to pop in and amend this tomorrow (it is very nearly bed time for this sleepy stamper...!) but if you come across this post any time on June 2nd, I would strongly suggest you head on over to my online store and have a good old-fashioned poke around to see how you can make this catalogue transition work for you!

New hostess set - a sneak peek at Best Thoughts...

Happy Monday!

I'm popping in today still on a bit of a high that was inspired by spending most of yesterday stamping with a bunch of gals from my stampin' team!

We had a session based around the Sneak Peek pre-order that us demonstrators get to take advantage of in the month before the new catalogues are released to the stamp lovin' public. Today I'm sharing a card that we made with one of the upcoming hostess stamp sets Best Thoughts...

Stamps: Best Thoughts (Hostess sneak peek stamp set - available June 2nd)   Paper: Perfect Plum, Watercolour Paper, Typeset Specialty DSP   Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive   Accessories: Gold Metallic Bakers' Twine, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Aquapainters, Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamps: Best Thoughts (Hostess sneak peek stamp set - available June 2nd) Paper: Perfect Plum, Watercolour Paper, Typeset Specialty DSP Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive Accessories: Gold Metallic Bakers' Twine, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Aquapainters, Stampin' Dimensionals

I stamp because I am entirely unable to draw or paint with any degree of expertise, so watercolouring is one of my favourite techniques for making me feel all artistically capable. It's a very forgiving and imprecise technique, and large images like this one can be done in a flash and with just a handful of colours.

My basic watercolouring method is to colour lightly all over using an aquapainter dipped in the lighter of two similar shades. Once dry, I go back and add deeper colour to areas where I figure there would be shadows.

Follow a more detailed tutorial on how I watercolour

A sliver of Typeset Specialty DSP, some twine and a splash of sparkle are all that's needed to finish the card off simply, leaving the coloured image as the focus.

We had such a wonderful day yesterday - 20 of us gathered at a local bowling club, stamping the afternoon away. So many of the team joined us in person for the very first time and it was great to watch them fit right in and be so warmly welcomed by the regular crew. I believe there is nothing more satisfying than identifying and finding your tribe - the feeling of being among friends and being crazy craft nerds sharing mutual interests is such a wonderful place to be.

An opportunity for you...

With a new catalogue mere days away from release, it's a great time to jump in and see if the demonstrator opportunity would be a good fit for you. With a start up cost of just $169 (which scores you $235 worth of products of your choice, INCLUDING items from the demonstrator exclusive Sneak Peek pre-order), it's a great way to get a swag of craft gear at an amazing price right off the bat, as well as all the ongoing benefits of being a demonstrator.

If you have any questions or concerns about the demonstrator opportunity, or would like to ask about trying it on for yourself, I'm happy to answer any questions - feel free to get in touch!

Weekly Deals + Retiring List Live Tomorrow!

crazy about you bunts birthday peek.jpg

It's back to school day for half of my children today - high school girl gets an extra two days before she starts back, much to the disgust of the small one, who had to frock up in her winter uniform bright and early after a fabulously restful two week break! School holidays always mean a relatively quiet time on the blog as I hang out with my girls and spend a bunch more time in pyjamas than would ordinarily be deemed civilised...

But I'm here now, to let you know a couple of things that are going on around the stampin' scene...

Weekly Deals are ongoing with some great ones this week, ending tomorrow! Check them out...

I grabbed some of the Washi Sheets from the Occasions Catalogue when it first went live and they're great for adding a bit of decorative flair.

Stamps: Crazy About You, Daydream Medallions, Kind & Cosy, Hello There (last three only used for the circular 'leftovers'!)   Paper: Naturals White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Typset Specialty DSP   Ink: Pool Party, Soft Suede, Night of Navy Accessories: Hello You Thinlits, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Subtles Candy Dots, Neutrals Candy Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamps: Crazy About You, Daydream Medallions, Kind & Cosy, Hello There (last three only used for the circular 'leftovers'!) Paper: Naturals White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Typset Specialty DSP Ink: Pool Party, Soft Suede, Night of Navy Accessories: Hello You Thinlits, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Subtles Candy Dots, Neutrals Candy Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

This is a card that I made for my lovely Father-in-law's birthday at the end of last month and I love how it turned out!

The different circles were achieved in a variety of ways - some stamped with the centres 'left-over' rubber out of open circular stamps, some punched out of Typeset Specialty DSP, and a couple punched out of the Washi Sheets - I used the grey grid pattern.

A smattering of Candy Dots from the Subtles and Neutrals packs keeps within the circles theme and finishes it off nicely...

QUICK TIP When punching the Washi Sheets, use a scrap of cardstock to add some bulk and strength to the Washi Sheet, as they don't punch out very well on their own (ask me how I know...)

Washi Sheets and all other current Weekly Deals are available until 11.59pm (AEST) tomorrow, before they clear off to make way for the next batch, so if any of the deals catch your eye and you fancy scoring them for a fabulous discount, I suggest you get on it...

In other news, the retiring list for the current Annual Catalogue goes live TOMORROW, meaning there's likely to be a bun fight over these colours shown above. I would suspect they'd have to have been the most popular set of In-colors ever (at least, they certainly have been in my craft room, and quite frankly, I'm not sure how I'll manage without the option of Coastal Cabana...)

It's usually the case that retiring In-colors are among the first items to run out when the retiring list goes live - particularly re-inkers - so if you own the ink pads, I strongly suggest you act now to secure the re-inkers for your pads, plus any other In-color products BEFORE the retiring list hits and the feeding frenzy begins!

SHOP THE RETIRING 2013-15 IN-COLORS NOW

IMPORTANT - CONTRARY TO THE PRINTED DATE ON THE FRONT COVER OF THE CURRENT ANNUAL CATALOGUE,THE END DATE OF THIS CATALOGUE WILL NOW BE TUESDAY JUNE 2ND. THE BRAND NEW ANNUAL CATALOGUE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE FROM ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 3RD

I'm equal portions nervous and excited to see what the retiring list holds tomorrow. It's always sad to see favourites disappear, but knowing that they're making way for exciting new products eases the pain somewhat.

New Sale-a-bration products, Blendabilities discontinued + birds and lemons...

I'm a bit delayed in updating you with a number of things, not least of which is the news that there are FOUR new Sale-a-bration freebies to earn as of this month!

Click on the above image for a detailed product flyer!

Click on the above image for a detailed product flyer!

As with the previous Sale-a-bration offerings, you get to choose one of the free items with every $90 in your order (prior to shipping).

You'll want to be quick though, as we're in the final weeks of Sale-a-bration, so make sure to get your qualifying order in before March 31st...

Blendabilities Discontinued

Last week, Stampin' Up! announced that they had turned off all of the Blendabilities product codes in the ordering system while they investigated a quality issue that had resulted in the return of an increasing number of sets of the markers due to drying out.

In a further update this week, due to the nature of the defect, Stampin' Up!  have concluded that difficulties, dissatisfaction and product returns will only become more widespread.

The manufacturer is unable to correct the problem in a manner that Stampin' Up! are certain would meet their high quality standards and provide them with a stable, long-term solution. Therefore, after a great deal of deliberation and in order to prevent further disappointment, the Blendabilities product line has been discontinued.

Questions?

Q: Will the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad (item #132708) and the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad Refill (item #133456) still be available for purchase?
A: Yes. I am SO happy about this news - Memento has become my go-to black ink!

Q: What are the quality problems with this product?
A: When the tip is welded to the barrel, the welding process can leave microscopic (invisible) holes in the marker tip. This leads to accelerated evaporation of the alcohol in the ink.

Q: Are all Blendabilities markers defective?
A: No. Most Blendabilities markers work as intended. I have almost all of the sets and have never personally experienced a problem with any of them, and neither have I been alerted to any issues that my customers have had.

Q: What if I have purchased Blendabilities Markers that are defective?
A: If you purchased your markers through me, please get in touch for assistance. If your markers were purchased through another demonstrator, you will need to contact them.

Happier news - birds and lemons

Back in January, I shared some cards that I had created on the request of Stampin' Up! for inclusion in a Product of the Week showcase that would be running throughout Sale-a-bration. I have neglected to share a second set of cards that was part of the same promotion, this time using the A Happy Thing stamp set.

This is probably the last set that I would have chosen for myself, but the great thing about an assignment such as being asked to provide cards using a designated stamp set, is that it provides a shove out of your comfort zone like no other...!

I got out my trusty watercolouring tools for the first two cards and absorbed myself in layering (and layering, and layering!) colours using Watercolor Paper, Aquapainters and ink pads.

(Follow a tutorial on how I watercolour)

Stamps: A Happy Thing (SAB), Gorgeous Grunge  Paper: Soft Seude, Naturals White, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Typeset Specialty DSP, Flower Pot DSP, Watercolor Paper  Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive  Accessories: Big Shot, Chalk Talk Framelits, Aquapainters, Natural 7/8" Cotton Ribbon, Early Espresso 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, Linen Thread, Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamps:   A Happy Thing (SAB)   Paper:   Soft Seude, Crumb Cake, Wa tercolor Paper, Park Lane DSP     Ink:   StazOn Jet Black, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Sky, Marina Mist,    Accessories:   Aquapainters, Venetian Crochet Trim, Early Espresso Baker's Twine

For the final card (my favourite, incidentally), I did use Blendabilities, but a similar effect could be achieved with the watercolouring technique as outlined in my tutorial. As long as you can produce the light and shade that makes it look as realistic as possible, you're on a winner :-)

Stamps:   A Happy Thing (SAB)   Paper:   Soft Seude, Whisper White,      Ink:   Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Suede   Accessories:   Big Shot, Circles Collection Framelits, Chevron Embossing Folder,   Stampin' Blendabilities (discontinued) Essentials Wooden Elements, Linen Thread, Stampin' D imensionals

Just for fun, here's another technique that lends itself well to the A Happy Thing stamp set. Check out this video from Stampin' Up! on masking using this image...

Thanks for popping in today!

Time to say goodbye...

It happens every year, but retiring list time is one of the most bittersweet times in the catalogue year for me.

It's always sad to see the back of products that I have used and loved and shared with you all, but the sweet part is that it only happens because new and wonderful products are headed our way.

But that's not until July, so we have the rest of this month to celebrate some of our faves while they're still here.

Click on the following images to download up to date lists of retiring stamps and accessories...

Some tips for you as you browse the lists....

  • Look for the discounted products! Several items are discounted, lots by 25%, 30% and even 40%
  • Bundles are your friend! Some products appear on the list as bundles - coordinated with other products and available together at a 15% discount on purchasing them separately.  Many of these items will still be available in the next catalogue, but will not be bundled and therefore will not be discounted - grab them now...
  • In-colors go quickly! We know as soon as they arrive that they have a life of just two catalogue years and they're always the first to go!  If you're ga-ga for Gumball Green, mad for Midnight Muse or desperately in love with any of the other outgoing in-colors, get your ink refills, cardstock etc while you can...
  • Stampin' Around wheels are ALL going! The Stampin' Around rolling stamp system is outgoing as a whole with this catalogue, so if you love to stamp with wheels, grab your faves (plus the handles and cartridges that you need!) while they're still around...
  • Be quick! It's all available only while stocks last, so if you want something on the list, don't wait...
  • GET READY FOR THE NEW CATALOGUE! Each order of $50 or more this month will score you a copy of the new catalogue posted right to your door.  I am currently awaiting shipment of a number of boxes, hot off the press - be among the first to score a flesh and blood copy...

The easiest way to shop the available retiring products is to do so online, that way you can be sure that it's still in stock - if you can see it in my store, it's available to purchase!

You're also welcome to contact me to place your order, just so long as you're aware that I only check my emails around once per day, so I can't guarantee the availability of your retiring product wishlist...

Happy retirement shopping!

Team stampin' extravaganza - the wrap up...

Feb event flyer_team-002.jpg

If you read my blog, subscribe to my mailing list or hang out with me on Facebook or Instagram, there's a good chance you heard rumblings of a stampin' event that I put on with six of my team last weekend.

The seven of us had been plotting and scheming, planning and organising, meeting and discussing plus, of course, stamping our little hearts out for a good couple of months in advance and the results - going by the atmosphere of the event itself and the feedback since, was a smashing success!

Here are some pictures of our lovingly pieced together display...

I'm especially in love with the Daffodil Delight chair that she scored from a verge collection in the lead up to the event - a perfect complement to the display and a perfect representation of how "in the zone" we all were with regard to props!

And here we are with a bodily representation of how we thought the day went :-)

Special mention must go to the lovely Miss Emma, Jen's pastry chef apprentice daughter, who baked 103 delicious cookies for the day (and stamped them too!)  The cookies have featured significantly in the feedback we've received, as one of the highlights of the day.

Also the delightful Priscilla, who although she is no longer officially a member of my stampin' team, is the most efficient and amazingly organised person I know, and when we asked if she could work her magic on the welcome desk as she has done at previous events, was all too happy to jump in.  Love ya, Pris!

What strikes me more than anything in revisiting this fabulous event, is that (with the obvious exception of my lovely mum!), these are gals that I would likely never have crossed paths with had it not been for Stampin' Up!, and what a tragedy that would have been!

One of the biggest blessings of my past eight years as a demonstrator has no doubt been the connections I've made with such incredible people, from demonstrators in my team, to customers at workshops and people who called to purchase one punch and ended up becoming wonderful friends.

A blessing, I tell ya!

If you're keen to add more blessings to your life in the form of like-minded friends, who will support you in all of your papercrafting nerdiness and understand the hand-flapping excitement of new stamping gear, I would vigourously encourage you to check out the demonstrator opportunity.

There's a good chance that it will be the best $169 you ever spent...

When double dipping is ok....

While it might be considered the height of backyard BBQ rudeness, double dipping is perfectly acceptable - encouraged even - in the stampin' sense, and right now is the perfect time to get dippin'....!!

Just announced on Monday was the latest Stampin' Up! promotion and it's a cracker (Geddit?!  Cracker?!  Dip?!  Never mind.....)

demo-hostess-april-13.jpg

The promotion is twofold, in that it rewards hostesses whose workshops total $400 or more with an extra $60 in hostess dollars over and above the $60 that is standard for a workshop of that amount PLUS it rewards new demonstrators with an extra $60 worth of value in their Starter Kit!

Where does the double dipping come in...?!

If you first take advantage of the Starter Kit offer, then hostess your own workshop as a way to introduce your new stampin' venture to your nearest and dearest, you get the $60 in bonus products in your kit PLUS the $60 in hostess dollars when your workshop hits the magical $400 mark.

Add this to the fact that your first workshop (held within 45 days of becoming a demonstrator) qualifies you for 30% discount/commission as opposed to the standard 20% and you have a handy dandy (and incredibly reasonably priced!) shopping spree on your hands ;-)

Alternatively, you might choose to operate in reverse and first hold a workshop to test the stampin' waters with your friends and family and see how much interest you might have as their new Stampin' Up! demonstrator, then take the plunge when they all have a fabulous stampin' time at your place and beg you for more ;-)

Either way you do it, you really can't lose!

For more information on joining my merry band of demonstrators, check out all the details on the Join My Team page and feel absolutely free to contact me if you have any queries or need further clarification on anything :-)

New wood mount stamp storage!

We all know I'm a fan of a good storage solution, which may or may not be because it gives me a reason to visit Ikea, aka The Happiest Place on Earth, but Swedish furniture aside, check this out...

Whether or not the May 31 launch date applies to us here in the South Pacific Market I'm not 100% sure, but I'd be happy to wait, say, a week longer than our US stampin' sisters for these babies, otherwise I can't promise there won't be a riot... ;-)

Just kidding.

Sort of...

Tell me, are you a fan...?

*UPDATE* I have it on good authority (the demonstrator website told me so!) that the new wood mount storage boxes will be available from July 1st with the launch of the new annual catalogue! Even better news - you can also purchase empty boxes to transfer all of your old stamp sets into - a pack of four of the full size cases for $11.95 or four of the half size cases for $8.95 PLUS there will be templates available to create your own stamp set labels to fit the new packaging :-D SQUEEEEE!!

Colour Refresh!

It's been three years since the sizeable colour renovation, which saw 25 Stampin' Up! colours hang up their boots to make way for some new colour delights and now it's time for a tiny tweak just to keep things fresh!

Color_Refresh_Banner.png
Color_Refresh_Details.jpg

I have to admit that the inclusion of Baja Breeze on the discontinued list had me hyperventilating momentarily, but the retention of  Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Island Indigo from the 2011-2013 In-colors and the re-introduction of Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride has gone a long way towards returning my oxygen saturation to acceptable levels :-)  I'm also liking the look of Smoky Slate as a softer grey option.

Here's a little more information about the Colour Refresh...

Whilst the changes won't officially take effect until the new Annual Catalogue is released on July 1, outgoing colours on the discontinued lists are available only while stocks last.

So if you're sad to see the back of Certainly Celery, or bereaved at the banishment of Bashful Blue, be sure to stock up on inks, refills, cardstock and accessories while you still can!

Design digitally and order online-ly....

There is SO very much going on with Stampin' Up! at the moment, I barely know where to begin...

These past couple of weeks have seen some epic and long awaited changes to the Stampin' Up! offering in our downunder market, and I have been quite literally twitching with excitement at the possibilities that these changes bring to my own personal creative potential and that of my customers, hostesses and downline team members.

The first of these changes is MDS - three little letters that stand for My Digital Studio and a whole new world of creative possibilities in the form of printed cards and tags, scrapbooking, home decor, photo books and loads more.

Far from replacing traditional paper crafting endeavours, it simply adds an exciting new extension to the craft and my brain is exploding with ideas just based on the limited time I've spent playing so far :-)

Have a quick look at some of what is on offer with this software...

You may have heard mention of print options in the video, but for the moment, Stampin' Up! Australia is still working to partner with a suitable print vendor for our MDS projects.  In the meantime, printing via channels you might usually use for your photobooks and printed products is perfectly workable, as is simply printing on your own home computer :-)

If the idea of digital creating, or anything involving a computer sends you cold, I would urge you to just give it a try and see for yourself how intuitive and simple to use it really is.  I am also delighted to let you know, that you can try out the software for 30 days, absolutely FREE!

Simply click on the image above to visit my online store and download your trial version of the software, which will give you an opportunity to play with all of the design tools included in the full version plus a sample of exclusive artwork.

Before you get started, you will want to make sure that your computer meets the system requirements so that your download doesn't run into any issues.   We all know there are no more frustrating problems than computer related ones, particularly when the prospect of playing with new digital designing software hinges on it, so check that your system is good to go according to the requirements first ;-)

If you'd prefer to jump right and get started using the full version, you can do so for the ridiculously reasonable price of just $24.95, which gives you access to the vast array of design elements included with the software as well as the option to purchase downloads of varying designs, from individual embellishments to entire co-ordinated ensembles for your next party.

There are new downloads every single week, as well as free ones too!

Check out the Digital Downloads section of my online store to see just what's in store for you when you jump with both feet into the delights of digital design ;-)

The introduction of MDS brings with it a whole new way of ordering your Stampin' Up! products too, and not just the digital ones!  From now on, you can shop in the comfort of your own home (and your pyjamas and hair rollers too, if you're so inclined) and at whatever time of the day or night the mood strikes.

Inspired by a project in the Annual Catalogue at 3am?  Order it immediately.

Seen something on my blog that you can no longer live without?  I have you covered.

You can also earn hostess dollars once your order hits $300, just like in a workshop, and the order is delivered directly to you.  Even better, if you're combining orders with some stampin' buddies, I can provide you with a hostess code so that you can put your orders together and earn hostess dollars that way!

Check out my online store by clicking on the image above or on the little animated icon towards the top right of the page in my little advertising boxes section :-)

Tell your friends!

Craft nerds unite...!

sign-up-image-2013

Signing up to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator during Sale-a-bration (which runs until March 22nd) is the very best time to do so, as not only do you get to meet all the new craft nerds stampin' friends that I mentioned at the end of yesterday's post, the generous discounts and commissions, fabulous events, demonstrator exclusive bonuses and all the fun stuff that goes along with joining up at any time of year, but you also get to join up with 25% more value in your kit.

With a joining fee of just $169, you can select up to $294 worth (usually $235 worth) of products from any of the current catalogues (the Annual or Seasonal Catalogues) of your choice

There is no prescribed kit, no requirement to even include stamps if you don't want to!

Hankering after a Bigshot?!  Get one!  And add in some Dies, Embossing Folders or Framelits while you're at it to make up your $294 total.

Want to bulk up your ink padcollection?!  Now's the time!!  Make your kit up with some of the bulk ink pad packs and you can grab three full colour collections (three packs of ten pads for 30 ink pads in total, not forgetting that they're the awesome new super-juicy foam variety...!) plus a set of  five In-color pads and co-ordinating cardstockwith $6 to spare!

Have a wishlist as long as both of your arms and not a single clue where to start?!  Let me help you put together a kit of products that will work beautifully together right off the bat :-)

After you've placed your kit order and welcomed your first of many big brown box deliveries, you can use your first workshop order (placed within 45 days) to get 30% off any other stuff that might be lurking on your wishlist ;-)

The kit combination possibilities are endless (inside the boundary of the $294 of course!) and the fact that you can include product bundles in your kit (that have an additional built in discount of around 15%) is a distinct bonus too...

Further information on the demonstrator opportunity and all that it offers can be found on the Join My Team page of my blog, or I'd be happy to chat to you via email, phone (0411 717 213) or in person to answer any questions you may have :-)

Contact me today, even if you've only ever had a tiny niggle of a thought that this might be an opportunity for you.  I can help you turn that niggle into a loud, shouting voice, imploring you to take a chance on something that isn't really a chance at all, other than a chance to discover something that perhaps you should have done a long time ago.... ;-)
